Returning from Vinitaly, I truly appreciate the wonderful opportunity this fantastic event can give. It is all exciting and full of optimism. In fact, we had many interesting contacts, all potential customers. It’s up to us to weave the threads of the negotiations so that those contacts can become partnerships.
However, I have a certain sadness.
Many, too many times, the passionate event goers who stood in line, not those who work in the business, asked to try a Chianti.
After all these years, most people still do not recognize Chianti Classico, the one with the famous symbol of the Black Rooster (black in Italian is nero). The special wine that was born in the first area between Siena and Florence. That which started in the fiasco and went on to the rest of the world. That which opened the door for Italian wines and evolved and became more refined, becoming in the present day a wine full of personality and expression of its territory.
